When you were little and looked up at your parents did you want to be just like them or at least act like them? I don’t really remember imitating my parents, and for those who know me I remember a lot of stuff, but I am pretty sure we all did something to that extent where we wanted to follow in our parents footsteps because thats what we know and saw.
This post isn’t really about me and who I looked up to or even why I decided to become a photographer but more about my little one being influenced by what I am doing right now. Its good and bad and here is why.
My little one definitely is my mini-me, no doubt about it, so sure enough she copies what I do. Although it is truly cute, but I can definitely see what I put her through. No, nothing bad just hmmm, well you decide.
OK, so Kenzie see’s me taking pictures and see’s me edit those picture, blog those pictures and just overall sees me working. So our conversations go something like this.

K: mama you working?
Me: yes baby girl, I am working.
K: mama you take picture of people?
Me: yes baby girl, I take pictures of people.
K: Oh ok, you take picture I take picture too..
Me: LOL, really u do?
K: mmmhmmm let me show you

…and then she will grab the nearest, closest looking thing to a camera and say “cheese”
Very flattering as a parent that she wants to be just like mom.
Here is a preview from her birthday where she was the photographer as mommy was busy photographing her. (with commentary of course)

ok hold still…. thats a good one (p.s: for those who can’t tell that is a PS2 hand control that she is using as a camera… see the closest thing :) )

ok let me change my setting, preview images… hmm not quite what I wanted…

Gosh!! what is auntie doing??… doesn’t she know she needs a camera to take a picture… amateurs..
hmm not bad… lets change some more settings and shoot some more
EEK!!! NO…that does not look good. delete.
Now as a mother I want my child to use her imagination but I thought since it was her birthday it was also very important to provide her with the necessary tools. So I got her a starter camera so she can practice and perfect her skills and become the World’s Greatest Photographer, and yes the starting point would be this camera.
Keeping imagination and inspiration alive and she loves him, so how can I say NO to that :)
Hope you enjoyed this post, just like Kenzie enjoys taking pictures with her Elmo Camera :)
P.S: The bad part of this whole thing, the camera talks, as in repeats the same things over and over again, so as you may have seen my previous post on chasing Kenzie here and here well now she chases me with this camera while it talks back…. Y’all I got a talkative paparazzi at home, how do u escape that ????
Happy Friday!!!!
